DZX credit system introduction (Money, Rating, Contribution, ...)

Firstly, I am not not from DZ official. I am just a DXZ user in China, I used Chinese version of it and tried some English version. I found some guy new feel complex when facing DZX's credit system. So, I'll try to give a simple explanation of it.


DZX's credit system is very flexible, if you use it right you will find it's very powerful. Don't be puzzled by what you see now. Money, Points, Ratings, Contributions... You may say what the hell are they when you first see them. But be patient, once you understand this system you will love it.

You can rename all these as what you want and set it to let them work as you want. I don't have a site with an English AdminCP so I'll try to explain without pictures.

For example, I have named a credit as Post. I want to use this to show how many posts a number have posted.
So I set it +1 when post a new thread and a reply, and -1 when deleted a thread and a reply.

You can also set a credit only avaiable when you buy it. So you can make money with your forum.

E.g. You name this credit as F$, 1US$ bought 10F$. You can set the megic card bought only with this F$ so when some member want to use magic card they will have to buy F$ with US$.

You can also set a forum which is viewable when your credits reach a specific amount. E.g. You have a credits named contribution, member will get this credits only when they upload useful documents or files and be downloaded by other members. When their contributions reaches 100, they will be able to visit a forum name Free download for vip contributors

You can set as whatever you want.

What's why it's powerful.

I think you mean Points, right? It is translated in the language file I think but not set in the admin cp.
Total score is the basic credit for a member. If you set the member in several levels then you will use total score to decide how many points to the next level. E.g. Lv.1=1~99 Points, Lv.2=100-499Points, Lv.3=500~1999 Points. If member want be a higher leveled member they should work hard for more points. So you can set the Total Score formula. If you want to encourage your member post high quality posts, you should set the post digests(you can also rename it) to high value, e.g. Total score=Posts number+Post digests*10. Thus, each digests post will get 10 points as in the total score.
2) What the units are used for count each credit type?
You can set it. See the second picture, line 3, I write Here to set the unit of the credit. You can set it as what you want and see how it works.

Can we use something like "Experience" or what else?

Yes.

Experience maybe better understandable for international users.

Experience = Activity (number of posts/actions) + Money + Rating + Some contribution...
