Discuz! come back with introducing MySQL 8 full support, HTML5 file upload and other functions, so stay tuned.

and the new name is Discuz! Q Series
Discuz! Q is a lighter, more modifiable, more mobile, more open and easier to redevelop community product. The first alpha version of Discuz! Q will be released around the Lunar New Year.

This idea is discussed starting from the May of 2019.
But unfortunately still no more info.
No code repositories, no news, no alpha-releases, no anything else...
