Hi Vot,

I want to know what files to translate in a Discuz template downloaded from addon.discuz or from any other non english sites. Can all Chinese templates be translated? I see on this forum, some users have mentioned that the template is not suitable for ML. But why?

This is a great forum and Discuz software is powerful. I want to contribute something to this community.

I am also planning to add few new languages so it helps!

Please let me know.

Any Chinese template can be translated to any aother language.
Our members have done this many times.
Just get a new template and check every file for Chinese characters.
Translate all the found sententions in place.
That's all.

There is only one problem with Chinese templates - it is no multilingual feature.
But even this problem can be solved.
Just compare your template with the default ML template and add some code for loading and switching a languge.

Thank you vot. I can edit all the Chinese texts but the procedure is still not complete. A friend helped me in downloading a template from the official site. I only see 2 folders and an XML file in the downloaded package.

1. common folder - has two files in it, extend_common.css and footer.htm
2. Images folder - 15 images in total, most are for buttons and menu items.
3. discuz_style file which is an xml.

But the default folder that came with Discuz ML install has a bunch of folders apart from the discuz_style file. I am not sure which files to compare and add codes for loading and switching a languge?

Please guide me through.

Thanks for your time!

You need 2 additional files in the template folder:

Put your template folder into "/template/" folder (near the "default" folder).
And try to set this new template in your adminCP.
