Need help in updating.

Hey I read your tutorial text file, upgrade.txt about upgrading but you say "Move all files and subdirectories of /utility/ folder to /install/ folder". I am confused and wanna ask from which utility folder the new one (the version I am installing) or the old one (which I backed up)?

If you copy FROM NEW VERSION - you will UPDATE TO A NEW VERSION.
In other case you will downgrade to an older version

No, I mean I have backed up my database and uploaded new X2.5 version (which overwrote my last version X2.0). Now what to do?

upload update file (update.php*) into install folder


*  will find it in utility folder (the new)
and get

http://yoursite.com/install/update.php

and go !

Thank you I got it but now when I open that upgrade.php file it says
"Please close access to site before performing this upgrade". Now what to do? Do I have to close access from Admin CP of forum (I can't access it) or do I have to close access from my server?

Close your forum from the admincp, if you can not access it from the admincp, do the steps that says khalid

But when I goes to this link it redirects to my host and gives an error "The page you requested cannot be found". Please help me guys.

the call
if use root
http://yoursite/install/update.php?step=prepare
yoursite : change it to your site



if there discuz folder


http://yoursite/yourfolder/install/update.php?step=prepare

yoursite : change it to your site
