cannot install discuz!

I uploaded all the files of discuzX 2 in my root directory and when I was about to install it, it gave an error " 403 Forbidden ".
What to do.

create the .htaccess file if not exists.
Add to the top:
  1.     DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm
Copy the Code
Or ask you hosting support to add this into http-server config.

There is a file of ".htaccess" .
But I didnt got that "add to the top" tell me how.
&&&& before I chmodded all the files of discuz to "777", I was able to open the setup but cannot install it, after the modditions nothing at all... Didnt recognised the files.

WHY you did it?
It is not required in the install instruction!
And this action created a possible vulnerability of your site.

There is a file of ".htaccess" .
But I didnt got that "add to the top" tell me how.


Edit the file and insert the recomended instruction as a FIRST row.

It was saying while installing in normal permisions that not enough permissions to do so.

Let's TEST your host.
1) Create a file phpinfo.php
2) Edit the file, write the next code inside:
  1. <?php
  2. phpinfo();
Copy the Code
3) Save the file
4) Upload the file to the web root of your host.
5) Go with your browser to http://yoursite.tld/phpinfo.php
6) Show the result here.

Here take a look. steps asked to be taken.






The third step here, I check the box of "New Discuz! X Installation (Including UCenter Server)" and next.
then the message is appeared as in my above post.
