Do an image compression on the discuz repositories.

i have some special tools i can use for image compression of any extension.
as long as it is an image.

see a demo test here...
Original Image : Size : 423kb Resolution : 1920x1200

Compressed image: Size : 325kb Resolution : 1920x1200


You can see i compressed it with no changes in extension and resolution
and when you download and compare the both files there is no quality difference.

How about we use the same thing to compress all discuz images ?
It will speed up the site speed with no loss at all.

Does anyone agree with the idea?
You are free to provide me an image and i can compress and show it to you too ,if you want,just to test its power..

Resolution in all Images is Same

Compress 1 is a Losless Compress
and 2 is a little lossy compression but strongOriginal Size 426 KB

Name is File Minimizer Suite
its a paid tool..and works well on windows OS
paid one does not leaves a watermark on images and gives a good compression.
which i recently cracked for free..
so paid tool for free.
if you want tell me.

1) We can not use paid soft.
2) We can not use hacked/cracked soft.
3) I can not use Windows soft because of I use FreeBSD/Linux at my hosts.

1] i can use the soft,and i can do the compression of images
and upload them here to check.
2] i can use the cracked software ,duh
3] do the compression on your pc not on server
so this is how it can go
i download the latest repo of x3.1
compress everything i can without decreasing the quality
provide you the package to check and test locally.

if approved replace with the main repo...or make new one named discuz turbo.

i can also compress CSS but in future modifying the CSS with be a headache cause they will be in line and not with spaces...

1) It seems to be good to minimize all the images size, but...
There is a problem with comparing original files with our repository files.
In that case we can not see what was changed, because of ALL our files will be changed.
In other words the main idea of any repository is DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING if it is not hardly required...

2) It is NOT required to minimize our CSS because of Discuz created cached CSS files that are minified already.

3) If you want, you can create your own package with all the images compressed. May be somebody need this.
But your job will be obsolete soon, after the first image change in the repository...

There is a problem with comparing ori ...

what i can do its..
download the repo .
update the images and keep them in the same folder replacing original files.
with the same name and extensions.
so there wont be any problem.
then you can check the packahe to see if there are faults.
if there are we restoe the target images[though there wont be any]

then witl it approved we updae the repo with the modified files ..
you can sync the repo...i think...from local pc to server...

You did not understand the idea!
We tried to save all the files unchanged as maximum as possible!

Your image pack will not be uploaded into the main repository.
But it can be used as an optional hack. If somebody want it, then he will use it.
