How to remove forum.php from URL

Hi, My domain name already has a postfix "FORUM", so now my Website looks like this (On Homepage)

www.***forums.org/forum.php

Copy the Code

having "Forum" twice in the same url is looking bit odd, so I would like to take off Forum.php and make my website look simple and short, may be like this

www.**forums.org

Copy the Code

So, can someone let me know how can take off Forum.php from Home Page URL

Try to use the SEO settings:
AdminCP -> Global -> SEO -> Static URL

I've tried all the settings under "Static URL", non of them seems effecive to my need. Can you explain where & what exact changes I'm supposed to do ?
