I tested the latest build on both xampp and my MariaDB server. Please note my results below,

XAMPP Results:
1. CAPTCHA doesn't work. I was able to install but unable to login since security code was not displayed.
2. Ucenter is a blank page. Nothing displayed.
3. I receive an error on the homepage as shown in the screenshot,



Mariadb Server Results:
mbstring was enabled and tested with many different PHP versions (from v5.2 to v7)

1. No CAPTCHA
2. Was able to login using mysite/admin.php URL but Ucenter blank page again.
3. No errors displayed as in xampp testing.

Not sure why CAPTCHA is not working. It's very crucial to have this.


Will be happy if my results help you debug.

Please look at your error_log file, and find an error message!

rev821 fixed the ucenter issue. It's not blank now which is great.

CAPTCHA is displayed in xampp environment. I was able to register and login without problems.

However, the problem exists with the mariadb server. There is no CPATCHA field to enter the text. Same problem as before. Please see the screenshots.





I tried different versions of php (5.2-7) still no use.

There are no error logs on my server. Since the official Discuz cannot be installed on Mariadb, I cannot confirm if it's a problem only with discuz ML. To me it looks like a problem with official version as well.


If you think there is some problem with my server, let me know so I can tweak and check. I have complete rights on my server and can do anything as long as I work in this organization.

This is a great job to make it work with MariaDB................ Applause!!!

I think it is not the MariaDB problem.
IMHO it can be a a problem with a pair of PHP version and a browser brand/version.
What is your good/bad pairs?

None of the pairs work buddy!

Tried every PHP version possible with Chrome, Firefox and also Internet Explorer. IE has a different kernel when compared to the other two browsers. Discuz has been designed with very low system requirements and should work with the age old IE for sure.

Another interesting thing I noted. Please see the below images,

From live Mariadb server,



From xampp environment running MySQL.



The problem is not only in the registration, login, post reply pages but even the admin settings page.


So, I went ahead and installed DiscuzML on a live server with MySQL instead of MariaDB. Problems exist with both ML and the official x3.4 build for PHP7, eventhough x3.4 supports v7 but had no issues with PHP5.2 to 5.6.


So what could be the problem? Something in my server?

Gotta leave now. Will wait for your suggestions.

By the way, this site works now with MariaDB. Do you have the same problems here?

I have the same problems on the current site as well. I have disabled the CAPTCHA feature so users can login and post without problems.

But, this is an important security measure to avoid spams.

Will wait for your testing and feedback.

I use firefox or chrome latest versions. I don't have this problem with your site. It's only problem with my site on Mariadb. Again, if I use ML rev821 on MySQL, I use the same browser and I don't have the problem.

My suggestion:
Let you install (Just for testing) "Open Server" https://ospanel.io/
It is an alternative to Wamp/Xampp.
It has both MySql and MariaDB onboard. And you can switch between them easy.
