I have prepared a trivial script that lookup the visitor IP and show the country.

This problem is too simple to be solved, just use your own ipdata (Which you handly coded) ;) Or using another open API for return IP location

I agree.
The previous suggested by me solution is not so good.
First of all, it is very slow.

I have found an another solution (like you are suggesting!) - it is using our own database, based on maxmind.com GeoIP database.
Now converting the database and checking...

After checking, I think to integrate the IP database with the international country database.
This will enable to display the visitor/member country in any selected language...

I have created a database for mapping IP to country!

The up-to-date IP info was get from maxmind.com.
The data is free, but accuracy is only about 95%.

Nevertheless, I think that 95% is quite enough for our goal!


Now looking, how to modify the code that used tinyipdata...
