Android Application Localization

There are a lot of of interesting Android applications,
but sometimes we want to slightly modify existing application,
i.e. translate to another language, or just fix some styles.

For example, there exists an original Discuz! Mobile Client for Android devices:

but it is all in Chinese!

We want to have the same application but with other language!
I.e. with English, or Vietnamese, or French, etc.

HOW TO MODIFY ANDROID APPLICATIONS?

Here we will try to describe this process and the tools required.

I'm Not Responsible For Any Eventual Errors And Misbehaving Of Your Devices. - REQUIREMENTS - PC COMPUTER + INTERNET + WINDOWS OS ANDROID SDK(LINK) Tutorial : Install Android SDK Start SDK Manager The Android SDK Manager will load and it will ask you to install packages. You may install ANY (or ALL) of these but the following are mandatory.. - Android SDK Tools - Android SDK Platform Tools - Google USB Driver Package Then click "Install Packages" to next screen.. Hit "Accept All" then Install JAVA PLUGIN (LINK) JAVA SDK(LINK) 7-ZIP ARCHIVER(LINK) ANDROID POWERED DEVICE INSTALLED PROPER DEVICE USB DRIVERS (LINK) DEVICE USB DEBUGGING TURNED ON (Settings -> Developer Options -> USB Debugging) FASTBOOT PACKAGE WITH GOOGLE USB DRIVER(LINK) NOTEPAD ++ (LINK) COMPARE TOOL (WINMERGE) ADOBE FLASH PLAYER(LINK) .NET FRAMEWORK(LINKS:V3/V4) Important :APK MULTI-TOOL(LINK) Tutorial : Unpack APK Multi-Tool Run "Setup.bat" Choose Option "3" - Setup Directories After Script Is Finished Close "Setup.bat". INSTRUCTIONS FOR APKTOOL Step 1= place APK (whichever one you want to modify) in "place-apk-here-for-modding"---> Step 2= Run "Script" in APK Manager/Multi-Tool---> Step 3=Go through menu and follow these steps (numbers vary depending on your version or APK Manager/ Multitool) Set Current Project (number 25) and type the number corresponding to the apk you want to edit and hit Enter Key Decomile apk (number 9) After its finished go into projects and open the APK you are trying to edit and MAKE EDITS TO XML/SMALI/9PATCH ICONS!! Now go back to SCRIPT Compile apk (number 12 - Non System APK) - Hit "N" (system app) Once when script finish... Hit any key ALMOST DONE Go to "place-apk-here-for-modding" and you will see your new modified unsigned apk!! Copy That Apk Into Folder "place here apk for signing" Execute From Apktool Option 13 - Which Will Sign And Zipalign Apk Your Signed APK Will Be Into .
