How to protect Discuz against spam bots?

Do we have any good tools to protect discuz against spam bots?

I know about these tools:
- built-in captcha
- publish timeout after registration
- disable registration from some IP networks.

What about waterproof? Just take a look at codersclub's footer. Do I need QQ account? What does it do?

AFAIK the "Waterproof Wall" is a cloud service provided by Comsenz.com.
It is a black member list collected by Discuz forums administrators.
Every Discuz admin can report to Comsenz about a spam.
If you want to use a "Waterproof Wall" (security plugin) you have to acivate it with your QQ account.

Yet another anti-spam tool is a ZB BLOCK, http://codersclub.org/discuzx/fo ... thread&tid=1952
It is an international spam-bot black list.

Yet another tool like "Waterproof wall" is the "Stop Forum Spam" service, http://stopforumspam.com/
Any forum admin can register at the stopforumspam and then report any spam event to that service,
and check every new registration against the international anti-spam database.

Yo its me again after a while ~

Discus has a sucky captcha system and can easily be bypassed by bots -i've been a victim already back in time

I dont remember much from my old admin time but i think that manual member moderation ~   is a good workaround

Only down fall is that someone needs to be around to moderate


Even better options include allowing registerations ~ but disabling or revising these functions ~

i have a few more but i'll have to reinstall a discuz version for that ~

oh oh .. dont forget captcha ~ it sucks but does reduces spammy registerations ~
also use a maths captcha  like 1+2= ?  one .. its there in admin panel ~


There are also other things like point rules etc..or stay online lower limit ~  and a few others that wont let any spam bot in ~
