Patch (computing)
A patch is a set of changes to a computer program or its supporting data designed to update, fix, or improve it. This includes fixing security vulnerabilities and other bugs, with such patches usually being called bugfixes or bug fixes.
Patches are often written to improve the functionality, usability, or performance of a program.

Plug-in (computing)
In computing, a plug-in (or plugin, add-in, addin, add-on, or addon) is a software component that adds a specific feature to an existing computer program. When a program supports plug-ins, it enables customization.

how is the compatibility of ML with the plugin store ? ( just would like to learn more about ML if it is a good fit or not)

Discuz!ML is partially compatible with the official Chinese plugin store.
You can check it yourself

Yes exactly.

You can make patches to bring ML up to the current Chinese version, and you can adapt ...

From a technical point of view of implementiation and user experience,  Can you share some differences between making patches and  adapting Chinese plugins ?

Since adapting Chinese plugins for ML is possbile. Where does making patches to bring ML shine ?

Hope people still find this forum useful and plan on using it to bring 3.5 ML live.

Do you mean you will have to maintain 3.4 and 3.5 ?

Yes exactly.
in order to achieve ML,  can we just write plugins for it instead of "rewriting" the whole codebase ?

You can make patches to bring ML up to the current Chinese version, and you can adapt Chinese plugins for ML, or write your own.

In any case, I need an assistant (or assistants).
... or a person who is able to take on all further work on Discuz! ML.

Thank you again for the hard work!
After they have their team working 3.5 without accepting your pull requests, I really don't see why you still have the intention for doing it alone for the new version.

I am a bit confused by "maintain in parallel two different versions of Discuz."
Do you mean you will have to maintain 3.4 and 3.5 ?  I naively assumed 3.4 ML is pretty much the same as the 3.4 original, where you can almost systemtically convert to ML from original (since the appearance is look-alike)

Maintaing two different versions without a team is too much work for one person.

Honstly, I think it would not be so easy forming a team to work on the 3.5 version voluntarily (due to its license)

But at the same time, in order to achieve ML,  can we just write plugins for it instead of "rewriting" the whole codebase ?

I tried to participate in the development of version 3.5, but the Chinese development team for two years systematically rejected all my pull requests to improve and fix their code.
That is why I stopped participating in the development of version 3.5.

In addition, to my great regret, my strength is not enough to maintain in parallel two different versions of Discuz.
I would really like to have our own team for the further development of Discuz! ML, but for now I have to do it alone
