Question about merging threads

We are on Discuz 2.5! and we seem to have a bug when we merge certain threads.  If the thread we are merging into has several pages, there are times when some of the pages just disappear.  For example we just had one thread that had 4 pages of replies.  We merged another thread and it still shows 4 pages when looking at the Threads list, but when you click to open page 4, all you get is page 1 and the rest seem to have gone somewhere, but we don't know where.

Has anyone here experienced this and if you have, how did you fix it, if there is a fix?
